Metal history was made last week (Oct. 21) when Megadeth was joined on stage by Slayer guitarist Kerry King during the last stop of the Jagermeister tour at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Hollywood, Calif.
Video: Kerry King Plays "Rattlehead" with Megadeath
Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine began with a rant about how the press has dramatized issues between "The Big Four" bands of thrash metal -- Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. He assured fans that they are all really good friends, proven by this summer's historic Big Four concert in Sofia, Bulgaria.
King was absent from the big Bulgarian show, but he proved Mustaine's point when he joined Megadeth onstage for a finger splitting rendition of "Rattlehead," from Megadeth's first album, "Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!" It was the first time King had played with the band since 1984.
Mustaine and King even hugged each other after the song was done -- in a very manly, metal way, of course.
