The 12th Annual Tuborg Image Awards 2010 took place at the Army Officers Club, October 2. The red carpet event saw the crème del a crème of music industry converged under one roof to celebrate Nepali music.
Ace lyricist, poet Durga Lal Shrestha was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Nepali literature and music scene. Active since the days of Rana regime, the living legend Shrestha was presented with the award by R.K. Manandhar, Director of Image group of companies.
Hemant Rana was definitely the star of the function, sweeping three awards including Best Song, Best Male Vocal (pop) and the public choice award, which was introduced for the very first time. According to the organizers, Rana received the most votes, a total of 11,623 clicks.
Aired live on Image network, the show was littered with star studded performances by Sabin Rai, Shiva Pariyar, Anju Pant, Prashant Tamang, Aagantuk Kharel, Astha B, Mallika Karki as well as the big winner of the evening Hemant
