Delhi Belly banned in Nepal

Kathmandu, July 4 : Two years after Bollywood action comedy "Chandni Chowk to China" was banned in Nepal, now it's the turn of Amir Khan's newest release "Delhi Belly" to land in the latest controversy in the Himalayan republic with the government Sunday stopping the film from being screened in Nepal.

The crackdown came after Nepal's Film Censor Board complained to the authorities that the Abhinay Deo-directed film was full of obscene dialogues and the distributor of the film in Nepal had failed to heed the censors' directive that the objectionable bits be removed before screening it in Nepal's theatres.

Obeying orders from the Kathmandu district administration, police Sunday evening raided the Gopirkishna multiplex in Kathmandu, seizing prints of the film and stopping all screenings till the recommended cuts were effected.

The owner of the multiplex, Uddhav Poudel, is one of the leading producers in the Nepali film industry as well as owner of Nepal's only film channel. Poudel is also the distributor of the Hindi film in Nepal with all major theatres in the capital screening it since last Friday.

"I saw parts of the film and was wondering how it could have used such abusive language," said Nakim Uddin, whose QFX Cinemas owns three of the best multiplexes in the capital. "However, the film received good reviews in Nepal and we were hoping to run it as long as it would."

'Titanic' 3D Gets Release Date

James Cameron's movie, starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, will be rereleased worldwide April 6, 2012.

Titanic is sailing back into theaters around the world April 6, 2012.
James Cameron's movie is getting rereleased in 3D via Paramount Pictures, 20th Century Fox and Lightstorm Entertainment.
The date was chosen to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the ship setting sail (April 10).
The 3D conversion is being overseen by Cameron -- who wrote, directed and produced the movie -- and his Lightstorm producing partner Jon Landau, who also produced.
"There's a whole generation that's never seen Titanic as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen," Cameron said. "And this will be Titanic as you've never seen it before, digitally remastered at 4K and painstakingly converted to 3D. With the emotional power intact and the images more powerful than ever, this will be an epic experience for fans and newcomers alike."

Paramount chairman/CEO Brad Grey noted that the rerelease coincides with the 100th anniversary of the studio, while Fox Filmed Entertainment chairmen/CEOs Jim Gianopulos and Tom Rothman added that Titanic is "one of the greatest sources of pride" in studio history.
Titanic -- which stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio -- is the second-highest-grossing movie of all time, behind Cameron's Avatar.
The movie, which was nominated for a record 11 Oscars, was first released in 1997.

Will Smith Has Own Writer For Men In Black III, Other Writers Didn’t Know

III, Other Writers Didn’t Know

If the name of screenwriter Mike Soccio doesn’t ring a bell, don’t worry; even his co-workers aren’t clear on who he is. Apparently after Will Smith rejected the MiB III script this fall, Soccio was put to work punching up his part. While other comic actors often have individual writers work other lines, what makes Will Smith’s screenwriter a mystery is how the film’s other writers allegedly had no idea he was working alongside them. “I’ve never heard of it being kept sort of quiet,” one agent commented on the situation. So basically it’s as if your boss hired an assistant, but set up his workstation in the supply closet and never told anyone else he was there. The guy might be doing good work, but things are going to get awkward if you run into each other at the water cooler.

Avatar 2, Future 3-D Films Will Be “Reality,” Says James Cameron

We don’t know nothing (read: anything) about shooting movies, but apparently faster film rates are about to change our lives, technologically-speaking. According to James Cameron, 3-D movies made with increased frame-rates won’t just bring the audience alien love-making at it’s most vivid. There will actually be aliens making love in front of them. “When you author and project a movie at 48 or 60, it becomes a different movie,” Cameron raved at CinemaCon this week. “The 3-D shows you a window into reality; the higher frame rate takes the glass out of the window. In fact, it is just reality.” We don’t know if we really want Pandora and the Na’vi to become reality, though that would at least make 3-D ticket prices seem less outrageous.
Given Cameron’s plans for Avatar 2 and 3, it sounds like we have a whole lot of practically naked blue realness headed our way. The director also suggested the industry shoot movies in 3-D to begin with, given that converting 2-D film is incredibly expensive. “It is not cheap. It is not fast. If you want do it right, you can do it right,” Cameron admonished. If the cost is really that much, can we please not go back and make Aliens a reality? Brain-braids are back enough; we couldn’t deal with those face-huggers zooming at us while we try to eat our Raisinets.

Oscars Cut James Franco’s Burlesque Song From Program, Ruin Oscars

Seriously, why can’t the Academy just let James Franco be great? According to James’ twitter account, Franco recorded Cher’s Burlesque song only to have it yanked from Sunday’s show. “They pulled this from the oscar show. damn it,” Franco tweeted last night, linking to a clip of Franco singing Cher’s epic “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me.” Considering the bigwigs upstairs clearly hired an unpredictable Franco to do wacky bits like this, we can’t imagine why they’d want to stifle his creative genius so close to the production. Ugh, now all this fan fiction we wrote about James Franco transforming into Cher and performing at the Oscars just makes us look like idiots. Just idiots.
While it’s often hard to tell when James is joking vs. what’s a serious endeavor (see also: Franco’s mustache, Franco’s career over the last 12 months, etc), but from the sound of his earnest attempts at belting, Franco seems to be legitimately trying. That makes us like the song even more, given the fact that Franco knows he can’t sing. “I’m crap at . . .I’m not the best dancer. I’m not the best singer, either,” James revealed to The Guardian. As for as we’re concerned, the Academy might as well cut out the glorious moose knuckle from the inevitable Black Swan parody, or pull the plug on the giant garbage flume Franco and Anne Hathaway will undoubtedly ride to a fiery death ala Toy Story 3. Sometimes we wonder if the Oscars really want to be great after all. We honestly do.

Justin Bieber Gets His Nacho On Before UK Never Say Never Premiere

Uh oh, looks like someone got the munchies! Justin Bieber interrupted his red carpet duties at the London premiere of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never to pick up nachos and a drink in the lobby. We doubt anyone gave him any problems about going back there—with his bowtie, vest and worn-out jeans, Bieber looked like he was underage concession staff anyway. Just make sure no one feeds him after midnight!

But this Dolce & Gabbana dress has her breaking out of staid silhouettes with it’s ruching and that sheer panelling from her hips down to her legs. Paired with sky high Gucci shoes, Fred Leighton jewels and a Burberry clutch and you got yourself a super hot 41 year old woman.

Leonardo DiCaprio Plays J Edgar Hoover In A New Movie

We like seeing this side of Leonardo DiCaprio, all dapper and retro. These photo’s were taken on the set of his new movie J.Edgar which is being filmed in L.A. We can already feel the 2012 Ocsar buzz off the Clint Eastwood directed biopic on J.Edgar Hoover’s life. Check out the rest of cast—joining Leo will be Dame Judi Dench, Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer, Josh Lucas and Ed Westwick.
The movie’s going to deal with the life of Hoover—Leonardo’s role—who was the first Director of the FBI. He was considered a controversial figure and dogged most of his life with rumors of homosexuality and cross-dressing, which the films going to deal with. Playing the role of Clyde Tolson, Hoover’s alleged lover, is Hammer, who reveals there are quite a few love scenes between the two telling E!, “It’s not a kissing scene—it’s a ton of kissing scenes.” And he’s totally stoked sharing screen space with DiCaprio, saying, “He’s a talented actor. I’m not nervous or afraid of it being awkward. The script is great. The scenes are in there for a reason. I’m really excited…Yeah, you heard that, Leo? Pucker up!”

Taylor Lautner Studying Tom Cruise Movies For Abduction

Taylor Lautner
Somewhere in LA, Taylor Lautner is grinning into a mirror and trying to make his laugh more maniacal.  John Singleton, who’s directing Lautner in Abduction, his first big post-Twilight project, says he told the dreamboat to study the filmography of acting legend Tom Cruise before tackling the role of a teenager who finds his baby photo on a missing persons website. “I told him to watch the transition from Top Gun to Rain Man to Born on the Fourth of July, “  Singleton told the LA Times. “To think about what he did as a young man and what he did later on. And then think about what you want to do.” Wise words, but what if you chase supporting roles alongside Oscar winners and Oliver Stone movies only to wind up doing Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps? What then?
Personally, we would have asked Tay to watch the transition from Risky Business to Cocktail to Days Of Thunder, but Singleton clearly thinks more of the werewolf boy’s potential than we do. “I think when people see [Abduction], they’ll see a more mature Taylor,” said the director. “He’s doing this [thing] he’s never done before. He’s funny and charismatic. He has room to breathe that he’s never had before.” Hey, Taylor was shirtless in the woods in Twilight! That’s about as much “room to breathe” as anyone can ask for.

The Jackass Guys Sneak Preview Their Upcoming CCMA Parodies On Twitter

danger-wee-preston-500
As we countdown the days until the 2011 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards — which, as a reminder, will be airing live on VH1 on Friday, January 14 at 9pm — we’ve been paying particular attention to the Twitter feeds of the Jackass guys. Earlier today, we got a tip that they would be filming some promos for the Critics’ Choice show that parody some of this year’s most popular and nominated films. While we’re not exactly sure which films they are parodying in these shots — based on the lawyer getups, our best guess is The Social Network — we’ll be sure to share the finished spots with you as soon as they’re wrapped!

The Top five Heart-Stopping Moments Of The Water For Elephants Trailer

rob_wfe
Much to our squealing delight, the Water For Elephants trailer debuted last night. Ladies, hold on to your ovaries. It’s chock-full of tanned, coiffed Robert Pattinson (photos) doing more than his fair share of longing stares and lip licking. We love us some Edward Cullen, but Rob’s styling for the role of Jacob Jankowski may have just taken the cake for his hottest look ever. The movie actually looks quite good and the editor threw us all a bone(r) by including no small amount of RPattz eye candy. For your on-loop viewing pleasure, we’ve rounded up the top ten Rob-laden moments that made our hearts stop.
10. Rob’s best Chuck Bass impression.

'Batman 3' Will Be Called 'The Dark Knight Rises'

Director Christopher Nolan adds that Riddler will not appear in third 'Batman' film.

In 2012, the Dark Knight will rise.
At long last, Christopher Nolan third "Batman" film. And as was the case with "The Dark Knight," the very mention of Batman himself is nowhere to be found. Instead, the critically acclaimed director of "Memento" and "Inception" will call his next film "The Dark Knight Rises."
Nolan confirmed the title in an interview with The Los Angeles Times, adding that the developing comic book adaptation will not have a role for the Riddler. The famous Batman rogue has long been considered a leading candidate to be the villain in "The Dark Knight Rises," with actors including Joseph Gordon-Levitt rumored for the part. But Nolan ended the debate with one rather definitive statement: "It won't be the Riddler."
In addition to confirming the title and removing one possible villain from the pool, Nolan stated that Warner Bros. executives have agreed with the director's desire to avoid 3-D for the third "Batman" film. Instead, "The Dark Knight Rises" will employ "high-definition approaches and IMAX cameras to strike out on a different cinematic path than the stereoscopic technology that, for better or worse, has become the dominant conversation in the blockbuster sector."
The pieces are certainly falling into place for "The Dark Knight Rises." Not only has Nolan announced the film's new title, he's also started the hunt for new actors. Earlier this month, his "Inception" collaborator Tom Hardy landed an unidentified lead role, with many assuming that he's taking on a villainous part. With his secret identity preserved, only one thing is certain about Hardy's character: He's not the Riddler.
"We'll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we'll be introducing some new ones," the director said.
"The Dark Knight Rises" is scheduled to hit theaters on July 20, 2012. Shooting begins in April in New Orleans, Louisiana.
