MJ Movie Distributor Accused of Screwing Canada
The good people of Canada never had a chance to view the Michael Jackson documentary, "Gone Too Soon" -- and now the owners of the flick are declaring war on the distributor ... claiming he personally screwed the entire country.
TMZ obtained a lawsuit filed by Objective Films, LLC -- in which they claim they agreed to sell the French and Canadian distribution rights to a company headed by a guy named Pierre Turgeon for $100k back in 2009.
Objective says they got the first $50k -- but Turgeon flaked on the back half ... and then tried to back out of the deal altogether. Objective was able to get the flick distributed in France ... Canada wasn't so lucky.

Randy Jackson Goes Nuts Over Michael's Album
Randy Jackson went on a tear on Twitter Wednesday night, swearing some of the songs on Sony's upcoming Michael Jackson album are fake.
Jackson tweeted, "Some of the songs are him, and some aren't. I would be [sic] my life on that ... I know this may seem harsh, but this is the truth, as I know it..."
Pretty much every expert who has analyzed the tracks says the voice is MJ's, but Randy is undeterred.
And he gets conspiratorial: "But what's worse then [sic] harsh is that my brother isn't here, and ll these people are more concerned about making money off his death...They could care less about why and how he died, or maybe they already know."
Randy also claims co-executor John McClain "didn't care about the quality or how complete the vocals were."

Michael Jackson's Children Recall Their 'Good Father' On 'Oprah'
Michael Jackson's children and mother said on Monday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that they're still learning to cope with his death a year and a half after the pop star overdosed on a powerful anesthetic.
Jackson's oldest children, 13-year-old Prince and 12-year-old Paris, said they are adjusting well to private school, although their younger brother, Blanket, 8, is still home-schooled. The children have been living with grandmother Katherine Jackson, who is their guardian, since their father's death in June 2009.
In the pre-taped interview, Katherine Jackson said Blanket, whose given name is Prince Michael Jackson II, is shy but now wants to attend school next year, when he'll be in fourth grade.

Michael Jackson 'Breaking News' Song Debuts Online, Stirs Controversy
"Breaking News," the dancefloor-ready first taste of the upcoming Michael Jackson album "Michael," was posted in full today on the singer's website and has since led some fans, and even members of Jackson's family, to wonder whether the song's vocals are authentic.
The four-minute track, in which Jackson defends himself against his detractors and the media, will be included on the first posthumous album of original material from the King of Pop, set for a Dec. 14 release on Epic Records.
The song begins after 35 seconds of sound bytes from various news reporters who bemoan, "The paparazzi would not leave him alone" and "Here we go again, another lawsuit for Michael Jackson." Over a percolating beat and a racing string section, Jackson sings on the chorus, "Now is it strange that I fall in love/Who is this boogie man you're thinkin' of?"
"Breaking News" will stream for one week on michaeljackson.com, where "Michael" is now available for pre-order. The news of the album release followed last week's announcement of Cirque du Soleil's forthcoming show Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, set to begin in October 2011.
Amidst the excitement over new Michael Jackson projects, however, is a brooding controversy over whether the voice singing on "Breaking News" is authentic. "Deceptively merging shady vocals with MJ samples (from prior MJ records) will never fool me," TJ Jackson, the song of Michael's brother Tito Jackson, wrote on Twitter. "I'm disgusted, disappointed and saddened."
LaToya Jackson also appeared to question whether the voice is really her brother's, telling TMZ, "I listened to it ... It doesn't sound like him."
In a statement, Sony Music Group countered that it it had "complete confidence in the results of our extensive research, as well as the accounts of those who were in the studio with Michael, that the vocals on the new album are his own."

Sony to Katherine Jackson: You're Wrong About MJ
Sony Music isn't buying the claim of Katherine Jackson and two of Michael Jackson's kids ... that some of the tracks on a soon-to-be-released MJ album are fake -- because one of the tracks in question is about to be released on michaeljackson.com on Monday.
The song -- "Breaking News" -- was recorded in 2007, at the New Jersey home of Eddie Cascio. Jackson and his kids lived in the house for 4 months while Michael was recording. We're told Prince, Paris and Katherine now believe the Cascio tracks are fake -- not Michael's voice.
But Sony has done a bunch of voice authentications, and the record company is convinced it's the real deal. So a teaser will be released tomorrow, and the full song will be on the MJ website for one week, beginning Monday.
We're told 3 tracks recorded at the Cascio house will be included on the full album, which will be released on December 14.

Oprah Airs Jackson, Molestation Shows Back-to-Back
Oprah Winfrey may not get a Christmas card from Michael Jackson's family this year ... because she's airing the tell-all interview with MJ's children back-to-back with a special on child molestation.
Oprah's big interview with MJ's kids -- Prince, Paris, and Blanket -- is scheduled to air next Monday ... but according to Oprah's website, the talk show host is airing a show the Friday before entitled "200 Adult Men Who Were Molested Come Forward."
Interestingly ... the Jacksons had beef with Oprah over her programming decisions back in 2005 ... when she did a show on pedophilia during jury deliberations in Michael Jackson's molestation trial.

Michael Jackson Gets His Own Cirque Du Soleil Show
A Michael Jackson World Tour in 2011? Leave it to the Cirque Du Soleil people to make miracles happen. A year and a half after the King of Pop’s death, the famed acrobatic illusionists are building a big-top event around his music and signature dance moves.
Aptly dubbed “The Immortal World Tour”, the production is slated to kick off in the Cirque’s native Canada next fall. It will then circle the world before ending up permanently at the MGM Mirage hotel in Las Vegas, the current home Beatles-themed Cirque show, Love.
Some fans worry that the show might not do MJ justice, but we hear Jackson’s legacy is in good hands. Michael’s mother Katherine Jackson has given her blessing, and it will be choreographed and directed by former Jackson backup dancer Jamie King. More recently, King as has directed tours for Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin and Madonna.
What do you think? Will a dozen of the best dancers in the world be able to measure up to a single Michael Jackson? We think not. But we’re still excited anyway!

Michael Jackson No. 1 on Forbes' Top-Earning Dead Celebrities
Michael Jackson's sudden death sparked an outpouring of grief around the world, but fans also opened their wallets to make him this year's top-earning dead celebrity with $275 million, Forbes said on Monday.
Jackson raked in more than the combined total of the other 12 celebrities on the list, Forbes magazine said. He was ranked third on last year's list with $90 million.Elvis Presley came in second, earning $60 million from admissions to his former home, Graceland, which is now a museum and tourist attraction in Memphis, Tennessee, a Cirque de Soleil show and more than 200 licensing and merchandise deals.
"Jackson's spot atop our top earning dead celebrities list should come as no surprise given the renewed fan interest in music, videos and all things Michael Jackson," said Forbes writer Lacey Rose.
Jackson was 50 when he died in his Los Angeles home on June 25 last year, shortly before a planned series of comeback concerts in London. The singer left behind three children and a debt of $500 million. But his estate has generated millions since his death, mostly through record sales, the "This Is It" concert movie, licensing rights, deals to release new albums and a Cirque du Soleil stage show in Las Vegas."Thanks to a lucrative catalog, hit film and album sales, the late king of pop earned more in the last year than Lady Gaga, Madonna and Jay-Z, combined," said Rose.
Jackson's physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, is awaiting trial on a charge that he is responsible for the singer's death by administering a powerful anesthetic to help him sleep.

"The Lord of the Rings" author J.R.R. Tolkien, whose trilogy of novels was made into films by director Peter Jackson, came in at No. 3 on the Forbes list with earnings of $50 million, while Charles Schulz, the creator of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, came in fourth with $33 million.Former Beatle John Lennon, who would have turned 70 this year, was ranked No. 5 with an income of $17 million.
"Many of the deceased icons on our list offer the marketing community name recognition, broad cultural appeal and, unlike their living counterparts, an indelible image that can't be damaged by a rehab stint or tabloid story," Rose said.
Presley, Tolkien, Schulz and Lennon all appeared on last year's list, which was topped by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent with $350 million after the sale of much of his estate. But Saint Laurent dropped off the list this year along with author Michael Crichton an artist Andy Warhol.
Along with Jackson, newcomers to this year's list included Yankees baseball team owner George Steinbrenner at No. 9 with $8 million, and Swedish author Stieg Larsson, who wrote the popular mystery Millennium Trilogy novels that began with "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," at No. 6 with $18 million.
A deceased celebrity needed to earn at least $5 million between October 1, 2009 and October 1, 2010 to make this year's list, Forbes said. The magazine spoke to agents, lawyers and other sources to estimate annual gross earnings.
