Arsenal and Chealse both loses

Arsenal 0-1 Newcastle United

A header by Andy Carroll gave Newcastle United a surprise victory at Arsenal.

The Magpies grabbed the winner on the stroke of half-time when a deep free-kick into the Arsenal box from Joey Barton was met by Carroll, who got there ahead of Lukasz Fabianski to nod the visitors in front.
The Gunners failed to fire although they went close three times. Cesc Fabregas' deflected free-kick hit the bar, Samir Nasri was denied by a fine one-handed save by Tim Krul and Theo Walcott smacked an angled drive against the bar.
To compound Arsenal's woes, Laurent Koscielny was sent off in stoppage-time for pulling back Nile Ranger as he bore down on goal.

West Bromwich Albion 0-2 Manchester City

Balotelli notched his first Premier League goal by sliding in to meet a cross from Carlos Tevez, who had latched on to David Silva's incisive pass on 20 minutes.
Having made the breakthrough, Balotelli took only six minutes to strike again and put City 2-0 up.
Silva was involved once more, lofting a pass to the former Inter Milan man who finished firmly despite the attentions of Gabriel Tamas. However on 63 minutes Balotelli received his marching orders for his second booking in the space of five minutes. He saw red after kicking out at Youssouf Mulumbu who was himself dismissed for a second bookable offence eight minutes from time.
