2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters, Andy Murray breezes into the final

The number one British hope, Andy Murray cruised into the final of the 2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters Men’s singles competition with a two setter win over Juan Monaco of Argentina on Saturday. The final match score was 6-4 6-1.
The twenty-three year old Scott, who qualified for the season ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, in London by making his way into the quarter finals in Shanghai, will next take on the winner of the second semi final match between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic later in the day.

The London resident, who served tremendously in his final eight clash versus Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, started off his semi final battle in a similar manner as the Brit quickly raced through his first service holds.
He successfully managed to break in only the fourth game of the match and it appeared as if the rest of the battle will be a one sided affair from there onwards. However, Monaco smashed a forehand into the net and immediately held again to strengthen his handy lead.
In spite of the fact that Murray started to struggle on his serve, Monaco didn’t take full advantage of the situation and despite bouncing back couldn’t maintain his return and missed his serve on the second occasion by hitting a forehand into the net and in the end lost the set as well.
The Glasgow born Murray, who turned professional back in 2005, has so far made his way into a total of two Grand Slam finals in his career, the United States Open as well as Australian Open. However, he lost to the twenty nine year old Roger Federer on both occasions.
World number four, who has reached the final in Shanghai without even losing a single set, at the year’s final major, the United States Open, triumphed in his first clash versus Lacko in straight sets. He next played Dustin Brown and easily got the better of him to face Stanislas Wawrinka in the third round in New York where he was defeated in four sets in the end.
The fourth seed Murray in his semi final match on Saturday improved his game in the decisive set whereas Monaco, who was competing in his first Masters final four clash, fell apart and Andy as a result sealed victory in quick time.
